Hi folks!
I copy my reply to "cottmiler" sent via the "other" website :-

Hi "cottmiler"!
Thank you for the welcome tip about "theswimforum.palstani.com"!
I changed my email address some time ago to move to ***redacted by admin*** because to my horror the old email address had become a portal for hackers actually sending out junk under my e-address (my password was frozen and couldn't be changed since I had moved to SKY and didn't have a BT a/c). Happily BT responded quickly to my howl for the old "...@btinternet.com" address to be shut down.
I "Googled" around to see what other swim forums might exist - and latched onto this one - but not much activity here [UKswimforum], so rather disappointed - no match for the old SS forum
Not very happy about the "DWFitnessclub" pool am using - but not many other options (20mx10m, and just a single lane for serious swimmers). Have already had a "set-to" in the un-roped area with several "head-above-the water-all-the time" ladies doing breast stroke or just walking up/down in pairs "nattering" to each other. I've been "banished/hectored" by them to either the single lane (much used of course) or alongside it's lane rope (where there is no end wall to turn against because of wide fancy steps at the pool entry end).
Reached 81 now - and the wear/tear is more noticeable - but happily I become a different chap when I get swimming with the water supporting the achey bits. Still doing a couple of lengths for each of my 1/2 dozen freestyle variations - but as always have been fascinated by fly stroke. although can't seem to get beyond 15m at the most for each single attempt, because of heart trying to pound through the ribs - warning me to ease off.
Best wishes - Keep on keeping on!
Bye / Don

Guess that says it all for the moment. I recognize some of the old SS user names!!!
I was horrified recently to see that Google "mops up" anything thought to be subject relevant. When searching for stuff on "body dolphin UW " they included some of my dubious "burblings" on the subject from the SS forum - Oh where can I hide!!!

Hi Don, hope you don't mind, but I just removed your email address from the above. Not a good idea to post it here as you never know when it might be harvested by spammers!

Hi Mike!
Thank you! It was originally OK on the other website 'cos it was a PM with access protected via password - but when moved here to where a "guest" could see it - a different matter!
Because I had a "guilty conscience" about using BT's email for some 4 years, despite having moved to SKY (and no longer "known" to BT) - when I received what looked very much like a genuine email from BT about such usage - I fell for it when I contacted what I thought was a BT call centre, and was told BT made a monthly charge of £6 for use of their email package!!! In that process I "inadvertently" disclosed personal details about my Visa card, D.O.B. email/postal addresses etc. I quickly came to my senses and stopped the Visa card and applied for a new one etc - but the damage was done, resulting in a spate of further scam junk for a while. Mercifully it has stopped now! I understand that many others have received bogus emails apparently from genuine "authorities" - what a world it has become!
Bye / Don

Re: Don Wright is alive and well!
Sorry to hear that, Don. Those people are absolute bastards! They took my dad for about £150 last year. He's 85 and caring for my mum who has dementia. He's a smart man and never would have fallen for such a scam a few years ago, but he was tired and in a hurry and just went along with what the "helpdesk guy from Microsoft" told him. Makes me very angry.
