Mr Smiley Swim Paddle
Inspired by Paul Newsome's idea of drawing a smiley on your hand to show to the back wall, in order to imprint the correct hand action, I wanted something more tactile:
https://youtu.be/vHvRKEDqOPo
It's made out of thin plastic and a rubber band with knots in provides the linkage between the fingers.

It's only used on one hand at a time and I invented because I felt there was an error on the left hand side when doing "shoulder tap" drill with no paddles.
It falls off instantly there is any error in water flow and it takes concentration to swim accurately. The hand placement into the water at the front needs care.
I had no problem swimming 2 km yesterday with it, alternating left or right hand use.
My swim colleague with the Dinner Plate paddles couldn't do even one hand pull.
(Patent applied for.)

Nice idea for teaching the newbees how to press the water. Apart from the subject, I believe that if you work on 75spm continuously by increasing the distance and develop a good aerobic capacity at 85-90% of your max heart rate, you wont have any opponents in open water events, belive or not but it is so my folk, i liked your below video:

Thanks nightcrawler for your nice comment. That clip was taken after a few months of good Aussie swimming.

Mrs Cott had no problems swimming with Mr Smiley, much to my delight!
She finished our swim session showing off - doing her Egyptian Crawl.
I must work on that tomorrow.
