This was brought to our attention a while ago on the SwimSmooth forum by SolarEnergy. I see that MikeA, smootharnie and I discussed this a little bit as well.

When using a two beat kick it seems that making some effort to keep the legs close together and crossing the ankles at each stroke should reduce drag. I especially try to do this in the sea.

To practise this streamlining and coordination in the pool this morning, I used bilateral breathing and clenched fists. The lower propulsion from the clenched fists made me concentrate harder on good body position.
