He made them himself, so if there a wallmarkt near you, go ahead.
Big paddles surfaces used above the wrist near the elbows arent that bad.

First achieve 1O unassisted pull ups NC. You only need 3 seconds to get there, so with a bit of strength training and big paddles..... Smile
If you can do 70 pull ups you have proven to be able to acquire enough strength for 70 very strong strokes.
Your only other worry is to not drop the elbow while doing it in the water.

You already had shown me the muscle building links.  
OOOps,  forgot that Ledecky could barely do 3 pull ups..
Still...  adding simply 10-15 % more force to your anchored arms, while holding balance and streamline should be enough to move  from 1min 03 to under 1.

those paddles are basically the same as the 'fulcrum' paddles but these ones this coach made make the last part of the stroke possible. If you take large paddles and don't put them on your finger but hold them in your hands, like you would hold a discus, then you can get a similar result.
