swim smooth guru anyone tried it?
Hi guys, so here you are all hanging out!
Kind of liberating to not have a coaching system hanging over your head.
Alway have to watch my words when posting something on the TI forum.
I wonder if Forums are really for old non adapting people if I see the enormous amount of traffic on Slowtwitch.
Anybody used the swim guru? How can such a system give detailed advice? (and I dont want to pay )

Welcome smootharnie!
I think we now have critical mass!
I guess that Guru would be useful for some but not for me since I don,t have any particular distance/time goal in mind nor pool conditions back in England.

HI Cott,
I suspect this forum will die a silent dead, but we dont give up yet!
On the other hand, why cant it be a worldwide super swim forum?
The one and only swim forum without dogma visited by all the swimnuts around.

Re: swim smooth guru anyone tried it?
I had a look at the guru, but there are three major drawbacks for me:-
1. I don't have a waterproof phone/tablet
2. There's no wifi at my pool
3. Swimsmooth training sets and drills are not really practical in my pool's public sessions
This might change when I start training in the outdoor pool again next June. There you can usually get your own line, so set intervals are more feasible (though they still don't allow fins etc.).

Re: swim smooth guru anyone tried it?
I have 2-3 guided training per week and then 2 by myself so guru does not fit very well with this kind of schedule. If I was purely self-instructed, most probably I would use it.

Hi Mike, do you know which features provides the basic subscription vs the advanced subscriptions? My suspect is that the basic subscription is pretty useless. For instance, in order to know SS weekly sets I guess you have to buy the advanced subscription, right? Same for having the Guru design custom sets for you, right?
You know, I took a glance at Guru when it was released and I remember it didn't convince me because it was full of videos and stuff but I already knew most of that stuff by having read SS book and watched the Catch Masterclass DVD.
Thanks,
Salvo

Hi Salv, I don't think I looked at it in that much detail. I probably just thought, like you, I already have a lot of that material on the DVD and in the book - plus, for the annual cost, I could book myself a video analysis session instead!
