Since your recent video explaining catchup and sprint timings, have you compared the lap times over bigger distances using different stroke timings?

Re: Nightcrawler's Journey to World Masters Swimming Championships 2017
Sprint timing is always better and faster in all distances but hard to maintain over the distances 200m. Instead of this i am using mixed(hybrid) timing, 2 arms sprint + 1 arm catchup(not full catchup but we may call it front quadrant).

Re: Nightcrawler's Journey to World Masters Swimming Championships 2017
The whole package is firmly in stage 3 . Looking like a very nice and powerfull working machine as a whole. Do you have flexible knees?
That upkick with the overstretched knee looks very streamlined and effective.
You seem to use that endpush like pushing off a wall to give more power to your extension at the front.
Thats a sort of connection you dont see that often with other swimmers. Especially not the uumph at the front types.
Every style has its pos and neg. What is added on one end probably is lost somewhere else. The available energy is limited.
The extra bended elbow is probably a good strategy to still get traction while not loading the shoulder too much at the front/middle.
I hope you feel race ready

Re: Nightcrawler's Journey to World Masters Swimming Championships 2017
I have poor leg, arm and spine flexibility and dont care about that so much, because working on flexibility has never made me faster in my previous years, waste of time...
My left arm stronger than right but had an operation fromleft shoulder 5 years ago, so that sometimes having a hitch while throwing the left arm. And right arm has insufficient push back due to its weakness in comparison to left backend push.
Anyway, this will not be the last race, every race is an experience and a way to recognize and understand our weaknesses. I feel ready for this.

Also my strong left arm is clumsier than the right, so right arm is waiting for the left to finish its movement, and sometimes drops the elbow while waiting, this results in insufficient right arm pull - there is no solution to correct this.

There is. Practise correct movement slowly until the body learns it.
That,s what drives me nuts, trying to get the perfect action.

Re: Nightcrawler's Journey to World Masters Swimming Championships 2017
You are mistaken; In slow motion body already can do the correct movements, but in race pace body works differently due to many factors. Look at Janet Evan's stroke, in slow speed she looks very smooth and symetcial but in the races she is swimming helter-skelter.
So decide: what is your goal, do you want to seem elegant or be fast?
My smooth but slow technique:

Re: Nightcrawler's Journey to World Masters Swimming Championships 2017
You can easily see the difference between 2 videos:
race pace (technique in hard conditions - helter-skelter) style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIQi6U7FqtA
slow pace elegant(smooth) style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f98Lv2rIu7c
https://youtu.be/UWqJ2Kc8ixc
1st one makes you win medals.
2nd one makes you attract girls.

On the other hand, as I wrote above my 2 sides(left-right) have different anatomies, it cannot be equalized by working in slow motions, because the case of the car is the same case, cant transform fiat car to bmw car. All I can do will be training harder and becoming faster.

I looked through those and the stroke is plenty symmetrical.
One video moved onto some Unco (1 arm drill, one arm by side) and I didn't think it was as good as it should be.
Have a look at the video on my Unco - BBS thread.

By saying it was not good as it should be what do you mean? Which part?
In BBS thrad in the videos guys breathing from one side, but i m breathing from both sides while doing the drill:
https://youtu.be/ft_W9XarO4U
may be this was the difference

In BBS thread, I don't mean bilateral. That is easy as most of the time the head will be looking down. I mean that the head rotates with the body every time and breathes every time.
Your Unco looks like the legs overpower the action. Try doing it with an ankle band!

In the open water rotation is not working, throwing the arms and swinging is better in choppy water. Budapest Balaton lake is a sailing center, there is always wind ther and the water will be a bit wavy i guess.

I think rotstion requires a certain level of core fitness for triggering hips, scapular, lats, legs and this fitness level cannot be achived just by doing drills in the water itself.

The challenge with ankle band swimming for you now is to see how well you can do heads up polo swimming and also Unco variants.

Notes: My colleague sat near by the pool and took my lap splits. I am happy with the result, with the 5K morning workout's fatigue the time and the splits are quite satisfactory in terms of my capacity.
I was quite comfortable while swimming, heart rate didnt raise over 140, it was really fantastic to see this result. I believe that without ankle bands I can sustain sub 7 minutes per each 500m (sub 42 minute) for the 3K FINA MAsters World Championships.
