I am teaching the below breathing and kicking patterns and their combinations in my swim clinics to my students.

Breathing Combinations:
breath in each 2 strokes (from right side)
breath in each 2 strokes (from left side)
breath in each 3 strokes (bilateral)
breath 3 times in each 2 strokes from right side + dont breath 3 strokes + breath 3 times in each 2 strokes from right side
breath 2 times in each 2 strokes from right side + dont breath 3 strokes + breath 2 times in each 2 strokes from right side
breath 3 times in each 2 strokes from right side + dont breath 5 strokes + breath 3 times in each 2 strokes from right side
breath 2 times in each 2 strokes from right side + dont breath 5 strokes + breath 2 times in each 2 strokes from right side

Kicking Combinations:
A) Breathing in each 2 strokes
3-3: breath and while your arm is entering the water do 3 beat kick then do 1 beat kick during the entry of the other arm.
1-3: breath and while your arm is entering the water do 1 beat kick then do 3 beat kick during the entry of the other arm.
3-1: breath and while your arm is entering the water do 3 beat kick then do 1 beat kick during the entry of the other arm.

Note: Sun Yang's kicking and breathing technique - Terry Laughling claims/cheer/hails/shouts that "this is TI yeah this is TI, TI broke the record" Indeed of course this is not TI, nothing to do with TI. If someone becomes a coach without a sound/proven swimming background, of course he/she cant understand what exactly it is!!! My student Emrah Civelek had taken a fragment of Sun's footage after he broke the record and prepared a youtube presentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uncOBURz-6o let me count you the pattern: breath from right insert your arm then kick 1-2-3(3) then 1 kick(1) with while left arm is entering the water: "3-1 pattern".

Lets continue on the other breathing patterns with their kick combinations that I am teaching my students:

1-3-1 breath and kick once during the entry of the arm then kick 3 times during the entry of the second arm then kick once during the entry of the third arm.
1-1-3 breath and kick once during the entries of the fitst and the second arms arm then kick 3 times during the entry of the third arm.

Neither Breastroke nor Backstroke and Butterfly have such huge technical variants, but freestyle has!

Now hope you have learned the kicking and breathing patterns and also how to combine them. You may have the chance of developing 1000+ freestyle(crawl) swimming combinations. Dont stuck in one pattern, being versatile always pays off. You can pick and try each of them according to your fitness level and your effort.

Swimmingly,
