It wouldn,t hurt if you and Sprinter edited your signature on SS as most have us have already done!
We are looking back at old posts there and there is a chance that our lost collegues wiil be doing the same.

Re: Good forum name
I checked a bit in the administrator panel and we can actually change the web address of the forum to something else. Also the description can be changed.
About new name? I don't know ... We could keep it as it is for a while as I have sent a few invites with this address.
In the meanwhile, if you have a good name, shout!

Re: Good forum name
I don't like "Swim Pals". In general I don't like such language in a general context. I guess it poses a problem to non-native speakers. It sounds like a "clique", a closed circle -- not like a discussion site.
Alternatives:
- "Discuss Swimming!" (would make a difference to other sides -- we do not just "talk" or "chat", but we "discuss")
- "Talk about Swimming"
- "SwimDiscuss" or the like (if a single word is needed).
Perhaps we should have "adult" or "master" in the name? Perhaps "master" is kind of misleading (since many of us do not fit into the "usual" master's narrative).
- "Adults discuss Swimming" (perhaps this might also be misinterpreted)
- "General Swimming Discussions" (where "general" should hint at that we not about club-swimmers or competitive swimmers only)
- "Swimming in Depth" (about our "deep" discussions).
- "Citizens Forum Swimming" (we are not affiliated to a company)
- "Citizens Discuss Swimming"
- "Free Swimming Discussions" ("free" not in the sense of "free beer")
- "Free-floating Swimming Discussions".

Re: Good forum name
I have no strong opinion about name and description.
Perhaps Sprinter can suggest his favorite and if no strong objection, I can make the needed changes.

Sounds good; it's rather neutral.
The current text
Discussions about swimming technique, training programs etc, most of the time free style but not limited to it only.
seems also fine to me. Just wondering whether the addition "most of the time ..." is really needed? If there would be really much interest in the other strokes, perhaps one could then provide another sub-forum?

Re: Good forum name
Neutrality could be a strenght. No biased TI, swim smooth or whatever coaching philosophy.
Just a world wide forum for all types of swimmers learning from each other.
Time will decide what works best, backed up by arguments and results.
And its the most obvious search choice for a google search.

Re: Good forum name
ok, so I will then change the forum name to "The swim forum". Will keep the description but remove the "most of the time".
The web address will change accordingly.
